Department of Digitalization, Artificial Intelligence and Electronic Services

By the decision No. 20/2 of the Presidium of ANAS dated November 12, 2025, the   Department of Digitalization, Artificial Intelligence and Electronic Services   was established in the structure of the Ganja Branch of ANAS.

• Main Objectives

          The main objectives of establishing the department are as follows:

• Adaptation to modern digital standards   
• In line with global trends in science and education, the integration of scientific resources (archives, publications, documents) into the digital environment is ensured. As the scientific center of the Western region, the Ganja Branch aims to preserve the regional scientific heritage and increase its accessibility;
• Optimization of management processes   
• The department will increase management efficiency and ensure time and resource savings by automating internal document circulation, personnel records, communication, and information flows;
• Digitization and preservation of scientific heritage   
• The digitization and systematization of historical, ethnographic, literary, and scientific materials (photographs, maps, manuscripts, publications) from the Ganja region will ensure their accessibility for future generations;
• Application of artificial intelligence technologies   
• Modern tools such as OCR, automatic text processing, and search mechanisms will accelerate the processing of scientific materials. It is noted that artificial intelligence will be applied only for technical and automation purposes;
• Strengthening information security and resilience   
• Protection of scientific data, backup copying, and management of technical infrastructure will increase resilience against cyber threats;
• Modernization of scientific publications and platforms   
• Functions such as electronic journals, the "News" collection, and DOI/ORCID integration will increase the international visibility of the Branch's scientific outputs.

1. Directions of Activity
   • Providing technical support to the institutes, museums, and laboratories of the Branch
   • Automation of document circulation and management processes
   • Digitization of scientific materials and creation of electronic archives
   • Accelerating the processing of scientific data through the application of artificial intelligence-based tools
   • Ensuring information security and development of technical infrastructure
   • Adaptation of scientific publications to international standards
